FAREWELL AT HURWORTH
REV. W. J. HENDERSON DEPARTS. The Rev. W. J. Henderson, who is to leave for Ngatea in a few days, was farewelled in the Hurworth hall on Monday night. There was a large attendance of settlers. The Rev. F. Copeland presided. The early part of the evening was occupied by the following concert programme: Pianoforte duet, Misses L. and -M. King; song, Mr. W. Eva; violin solo, Mr. S. Pepperell; song, Mrs. W. Peterson; recitation, Mr. Voss. Mr. Copeland said that as superintendent of the circuit he had been associated, with Mr. Henderson for a year and he had found him a very faithful colleague. Mr. I. Megaw, on behalf of the people of Hurworth, presented Mr. Henderson with a companion set as a token of their esteem. Mr. Henderson said he would not need a present to remind him of his friends at Hurworth. He only hoped that he would be received in as kindly a way in his next circuit. After supper had been served by a ladies’ committee, the gathering was entertained with singing and games.
