TONGAPORUTU TENNIS GAME
VICTORY FOR TAINUI VISITORS. Playing on the Tongaporutu courts during the week-end, Tainui defeated Tongaporutu by 11 sets to 8 sets. Most of the sets were closely contested. Results, Tainui players mentioned first, are:— Ladies’ singles: Miss M. Bartlett defeated Miss Fuller 7—l, Mrs. May defeated Miss Southcott 7—3, Miss Cowper defeated Mrs. Collins 7—4, Mrs. Richards lost to Miss O’Sullivan 2—7. Men’s singles: Bartlett beat O’Halloran 9—5, Richards beat Gibbs 9—l, Waters lost to McKeon B—9, Bryant lost to Southcott B—9, Montgomerie lost to O’Sullivan 6—9, Bryant beat Cradis 9—6. Ladies’ doubles: Miss Bartlett and Miss Cowper beat Miss Fuller and Miss Southcott 7—2, Mrs. May and Mrs. Richards beat Mrs. Collins and Miss O’Sullivan 7—4. Men’s doubles: Richards and Waters lost to W. O'Halloran and Gibbs 7—9, Bartlett and Bryant beat McKeon and Southcott 9—4, Montgomerie and H. Bryant lost to O’Sullivan and Cradis 7—9. Combined doubles: Bartlett and Miss Bartlett beat Miss Fuller and O’Halloran 9—2, Mrs. May and J. Waters lost to Miss Southcott and McKeon 7—9, Miss Cowper and Bryant beat Mrs. Collins and Gibbs 9—B, Mrs. Richards and Richards lost to Miss O’Sullivan and Southcott 5—9,
