REVENUE COLLECTION COST
LARGE SAVING IN BRITAIN. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Feb. 8. The cost of revenue collection in Britain was substantially reduced last year. The appropriation accounts show that a saving of (£774,005 on the estimated expenditure was effected by additional revenue departments, including Customs and excise, inland revenue and post office. The gross expenditure of these departments was £73,873,954.
