SENTENCES AT PALMERSTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Feb. 9. William Henry Smith and William John Wade, both aged 55, for breaking and entering by day with intent to commit a crime were sentenced in the Supreme Court to-day. Smith was admitted to probation for eighteen months and Wade was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. Counsel characterised the offence as a “drunken spree.” George Hubner, aged 26, for indecent assault on a male at Feilding, was admitted to probation for two years. His Honour commented that accused was not a criminal in the ordinary sense.
