GROCERS END CONFERENCE
ENTERTAINMENTS AT HAWERA. The New Zealand Master Grocers’ Federation conference at Hawera was
concluded yesterday. After an address by Sir John Sandeman Allen, England, a short business session was held. Delegates were entertained at afternoon tea by Mr. J. Heaton Barker, who was accorded a vote of thanks for hospitality and his work as secretary. . Mr. J. E.
Campbell, Mayor of Hawera, conducted the party over the old Maori pa at Turu-turu-Mokai, of which he gave a most interesting account. A motor tour was made of Hawera. In the evening Mrs. C. Macßae entertained delegates at a farewell function at her home.
