COUNTY CHAIRMAN RETURNS.

WELCOME TO MR. E. LONG.

Mr. E. Long, chairman of the Waimate West County Council, was cordially welcomed by members of the council yesterday on his return to the council table after several months in America, where he underwent health treatment.

The acting-chairman, Mr. J. S. McKay, said he hoped that Mr. Long would be much improved in health. He hoped he had enjoyed his holiday. All were very pleased at his return. In reply Mr. Long said he was pleased to be back among his associates once more.
