NEW USE FOR WOOL
TREATMENT WITH RUBBER. London, Jan. 31. Tire British woollen industry has launched a .big campaign to recapture the upholstering of motor-cars from the leather industry. Experiments for two years by the Woollen Research Association have resulted in the discovery of a method "of treating wool with rubber and securing all the qualities ■of leather except that it is softer and more yielding. Instead of upholstering a car with leather at a cost of £9, the new wool fabric costs £4, thus saving the motorcar industry £1,000,000 a year in Britain alone. '
