RACES IN WARMER WATER
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB EVENTS. The temperature of the water at the New Plymouth baths was 70 degrees last night when the New Plymouth Swimming Club held its weekly races, results of which are:— Junior girls, 66 2-3 yards free style: N. Hull 4s. 1, F. Pepperell scr. 2, J. Throssell Hs. 3. Intermediate girls, 50 yards free style: N. Fletcher 2s. 1, W. Richardson scr. 2. Senior ladies’ 33 1-3 yards free style: L. Fox scr. 1, K. Skipper scr. 2. Junior boys, 33 1-3 yards back stroke: S. Flannagan 4s. 1, C. Cliff 6s. 2, P. Hammond scr. 3. Intermediate boys, 50 yards free style: J. Davies 2s. 1, P. Aldous 7s. 2, L. Hannan 3s. 3. Senior men’s 440 yards: J. Melville scr. 1, H. Anthony ss. 2, N. Gardner 10s. 3. In a polo match Fitzroy B defeated New Plymouth B by 4 goals to 2.
