BEAUTIFUL GIRL SPY

MUTILATED BODY FOUND. 8 Danzig, Jan. 17. The mutilated body of beautiful Lydia Upsenska, 26, found on the railway line between Warsaw and Danzig, has led to the discovery of a widespread spying organisation, with headquarters at Zoppot, a seaside resort in the Danzig free territory. A letter found with her body made a full confession and gave the names of several agents in Warsaw, who have since been arrested. Lydia inherited a fortune from her Polish parents, but lost most of it in gambling at Monte Carlo. She then tried her luck at Zoppot, where, after losing the last of her money, she was mysteriously offered large sums of money and jewellry to act aS courier for a spying organisation between Danzig and Poland. Lydia never received anything beyond bare expenses, but became so entangled in espionage that she feared to demand the fulfilment of the promises that had been made her.
