BOXERS IN LION’S CAGE
EFFECT OF ANIMAL’S SNEEZE. London, Jan. 15. As a result of a wager, George Cook, Australian heavy-weight boxer, and Harry Mason, English welter-weight, thrilled 4000 spectators at a circus in the Agricultural Hall, whlen they entered a cage containing three lions and a tamer. Cook’s broad smile was an outstanding feature of the earlier part of the performance. Mason bestrode a lion and posed on a pedestal. Cook and Mason were photographed kneeling over another lion, which playfully pawed the Australian, whose smile vanished, however, as the animal loudly sneezed. Cheers greeted the boxers as they left the cage, but Mason said, “I would sooner fight Jack Hook for the championship.”
