MORE STABILITY IN CUBA NOTES FROM BRITISH EMPIRE ASSURANCE BY SECRETARY OBLIGATIONS HONOURED British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Jan. 24. As a result of the more stable conditions now prevailing under the new Government in Cuba the British Minister at Havana, Mr. Grant Watson, yesterday presented Notes conveying recognition of the new Cuban Government by the Governments of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The United States, France, Italy and other countries have also notified recognition of the Cuban Government. ox i. •The Cuban Secretary of State has given an assurance that his Government will recognise the previous Government s obligations, including the British claims.
