EAST END AND STRANDON GALA. Attention is drawn to the East End and Strandon beach gala day to be held in conjunction with the Flannagan Cup race to-morrow. The combined committees have left no stone unturned to make the day an enjoyable one for both young and old. Included in the programme there is a baby show (for babies 12 months’ old and under), which is to be judged by Mrs. Blackley at 2.30 p.m. Prizes for this event have been donated by the United Friendly Societies Dispensary and Mr. F. A. Coleman. Other attractions include a shooting gallery, concealed number competition, cake weight estimations, children’s races and side shows galore. Music will be played by the ■ Regimental and Municipal Band. Picnickers can obtain hot water during the afternoon free.
