BIGGER BULL’S EYES

BISLEY RIFLE RANGE. ALTERATIONS TO BE MAI?E. London, Jan. 1. The Daily Mail states that the bull’seyes at the Bisley rifle range are being enlarged to 6in. at 200 yards, 9in. at 300 yards, and 18in. at 500 and 600 yards, as compared with the sin., 7Jin., and 15in. respectively, to which they were reduced in 1928. .The Daily Mail states that, although the British are the best service rifles in the world, they are no, good for target practice, owing to the flimsy nature of the barrels requiring packing between them and the woodwork. It would be unfair to competing service men, it is contended, to fit heavier barrels, and the only target-firing alternative is to change the bull’s-eyes.

It is likely that there will be higher scores and more prolonged tie shoots.
