MONEY LOST AND FOUND

SHABBY BAG TOSSED AWAY. CARRIER’S GOOD FORTUNE. There is a carrier in the eastern districts of Stratford whose Christmas might not have been such a merry one had not he been the victim of a piece of capricious fortune.

The task was delegated to him, by a client in an eastern township, of bringing to Stratford on Tuesday a fairly large sum to be banked, and the carrier was asked to bring £2O of notes, as change, on his rettirn.

The change was contained in a bank bag a little the worse for wear, and as the truck bounced through Douglas the bag bounced out. Some children found it lying on the road and without examination threw it away as being of no account. The mother of the children was informed casually of the discovery by her offspring. She sent them off for the mysterious bag, and the £2O was found. The mother informed the Stratford police, the police began detection work through the banks and the depositor was informed of the whereabouts of his stray money.
