By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, December 19. “Ulster has a moral and constitutional right to remain in close association with Britain and the Empire,” declared the Premier, Lord Craigavon, at the opening of the new Northern Ireland Parliament. “The citizens of Northern Ireland are not to be slaves to the Irish Free State Parliament, and still less to an Irish Republic.” The Governor, the Duke of Abercom, said the number of unemployed registering for work during the present yearhad fallen by one-fifth, the improvement being particularly marked in the building and linen trades.
