ALLEGED LOSSES AT TWO-UP
STATEMENT BY A BANKRUPT.
MEETING AGAIN ADJOURNED.
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Gisborne, Last Night.
- Still another adjournment, this time until January 17, was made to-day in connection with the examination of Thomas Goodall, a freezing works employee, who was adjudged bankrupt recently on a creditors’ petition. At the? first meeting the bankrupt alleged he had lost upwards of £3OO in three years at local two-up schools, but was unable to state the locality of the schools or who was present at the schools. To enable him to obtain further information on. these points the meeting was adjourned for a week, but the bankrupt was still unable to throw further light on the position. The meeting was then further adjourned until to-day, Goodall being supplied with a list of convicted two-up players as a guide to inquirers. He stated he had found most of the men whose names he had been given, but could not pick them. He spoke to only one, as he thought counsel for the creditors only wanted him to recognise them. He said he would make it his business to see them. After a detailed examination counsel said apparently Goodall misunderstood what was required of him. Under these circumstances the official assignee adjourned the meeting until January 17.
