BOWLS MATCH ABANDONED

RAIN STOPS HAWERA V. PARK. THREE POINTS MARGIN AT CLOSE. Rain caused postponement of the match between the Park and Hawera Bowling Clubs yesterday. There was a difference of only three points in the total scores when the game was stopped, Park’s total being 60 and Hawera’s 57. The match was important in South Taranaki in that if Park won it would have won the competition, whereas if Hawera won there would have been three teams in the final —Hawera, Park and Opunake. Park and Hawera, as yesterday’s score showed, are evenly matched, and the replay should be interesting. The scores when play ceased were:—
