McAvady (chairman of the Matiere Settlers’ Association), P. Cullen (president of the Pio Pio Settlers’ Association), R. Neal (chairman Pio Pio Dairy Company) and D. J. Malone (Stratford member of the New Plymouth Harbour Board). Local members included Messrs Gordon Fraser, J. R. Cniickshank, P. J. H. White, A. F. Sandford, W. J. Freeth, Val Duff (secretary of the chamber), H. E. Blyde (provincial president of the Farmers’ Union), D. le Cren Morgan (provincial secretary) and J. Brown (chairman of the Taranaki Producers’ Freezing Company).
