London, Dec. 15. The House of Commons sat through the night discussing the Newfoundland Bill.
Mr. J. Maxton (Labour) moved an amendment that the revocation of the present administration of Newfoundland should be subject to the approval of the Dominions.
Mr. J. H. Thomas, Secretary for the Dominions, said.it was not the Government’s duty to consult the Dominions on a matter purely between Newfoundland and Britain. The amendment was lost by 208 votes to 38.
The Government frequently used the closure and the committee stage concluded at 8.35 a.m. The House then considered the financial resolution of the Unemployment Bill.
