Cox, slow-motion photography expert, with the machine they have perfected to project cinematograph films in colour. Ordinary black and white film is used, a special lens, through a series of facets, breaking up the spectrum and producing natural colours on the screen.

The two machines arrived at Southampton on October 26, en route to Cadiz, where they were to be joined by two similar craft to start the experimental service across the Atlantic. A converted liner, the Westfalen, will be used as a “half-way house” in connection with the service.

FIREWORKS AT ATHLETIC PARK, WELLINGTON.—“Prince of Wales Feathers,” one of the most effective pieces at the fireworks display on Wednesday.

TWENTY YEARS AGO.-Croquet players, grabbed in the correct costume for the game twenty years ago, played the first match at Wellington on the occasion of the twenty-first birthday party of the Kelburn Croquet Club Mrs. R. Gardner, captain of the club, is standing on the right.
