SWIMMING IN THE SCHOOLS WIGRAM TROPHY COMPETITION. HEADS LIST IN NEW' ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. .. Christchurch, Last Night. The Wigram Shield competition under the auspices of the New Zealand Council of the Royal Life-Saving Society for the head centre gaining the greatest number of awards proportionate to the population of the district has been awarded Taranaki. The Bamford Shield competition, awarded to the school college or club in the Dominion gaining the most awards, was won by Auckland Training College with 583 awards. Wanganui Girls’ College with 300 was second and New Plymouth Girls’ High School with 260 was third. This is not the first occasion on which the Wigram Shield has been awarded to Taranaki.
