AIR SERVICE OVER TASMAN SEA. MR. ULM MAKES PREPARATIONS. By Telegraph—Press As^n.— Copyright Sydney, Nov. 20. “A trans-Tasman air service would be too costly at present, but such a service should be possible in a few years,” declared Mr. C. T. P. Ulm, discussing his proposed flight to New Zealand. His plane, Faith ia Australia, has been completely overhauled and, weather permitting, Mr. Ulm and Mr. R. Boulton win leave Mascot at the end of this week. Mr Ulm intends to fly to Wellington, and return to Sydney in about six weeks’ time.
PREPARATIONS FOR FLIGHT. OVERHAUL OF AEROPLANE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night Cabled advice that Mr. C. T. P. Ulm will leave Richmond aerodrome, New South Wales, bound for New Zealand in the Faith of Australia on Friday has been received by the Vacuum Oil Company. The machine is at present undergoing certain modifications at Mascot aerodrome, Sydney. The engines are being overhauled and the passenger accommodation fitted up in the cabm. It is expected the machine will make a test flight to-morrow. The present plans of Mr. Ulm and party are to leave Richmond in the early hours of Friday morning, arriving in New Zealand in the afternoon. It has not been decided where he will make his landing at the completion, but it is extremely likely that he will come to Rongotai. Mr. Ulin’s manager, Mr. Smyth, who until recently was secretary to the Aero Club of New South Wales, will reach Auckland to-morrow by the Marama, and upon his arrival at Wellington a complete itinerary for Mr. Ulm’s tour will be arranged.
