COMPETITION TENNIS MATCH. ' Otakeho defeated Okaiawa in the second tennis competition match at Otakeho on Saturday. The teams were very evenly matched and good games resulted. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Greenhill, Otakeho, entertained a large number of friends at their home last week in honour of Miss B. McCullum. A euchre tournament was held, about 40 players taking part. The prizes were won by Mrs. Mudford, Miss J. McCullum, Mr. A. Nicholls and Mr. Jim Campbell. The winners of the competitions were Miss B. McCullum and Miss L. Putt. Among those present were Mesdames Greenhill, Soloman, Hastie, Walker, Mackie, Campbell, Corkill, Anderson, Cook, J. Symes, Bayliss, Inglis, Mudford, Stone, L. Symes, Misses B. McCullum, White, McCartie, Surgenor, Julian, J. McCullum, L. Putt, I. Campbell, J. Walker, V. Nicholls, A. Putt, H. Nicholls and D. Stone. Mr. S. le Fleming is indisposed. Mrs. Jenkins, who slipped and broke her leg during the week-end, is in the Hawera public hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Surgenor have been spending a few days in the district. Mr. Peter Burton is still an inmate of the Hawera hospital. Mr. C. Des Forges, New Plymouth, spent the week-end with friends in the district. Miss L. Putt is indisposed. Miss P. Freeman is out of hospital.
