WHITE STAR BALL.
Ever since its inauguration a few years ago the White Star annual ball has been ■ regarded as one of the dancing events of the season at New Plymouth.' This years ball, which takes place to-night, promises to eclipse them all. The decorations are a feature. Never has the Agricultural hall looked better. The Anzac and South African flags are incorporated in the scheme. . They also serve as an indication of the funds to benefit by the ball. In the past various charitable organisations have benefited as the result of the practice of the organisers of the ball in devoting all proceeds to charity. This year the South African veterans ■■■ and the Returned Soldiers’ Association are each to receive half- the net proceeds. A special feature will be the arrangement of the entrance hall. With a fleet of buses running from many parts of the district and .the prices of admission very reasonable there is no reason why all Hovers of dancing should not have an enjoyable evening and at the ’same time assist two worthy causes.-
