Mr. R. Flower, Wellington, is staying at the Imperial Hotel, New Plymouth. Mr. Richard Cock, New Plymouth, who is indisposed, was reported to have shown considerable improvement in health yesterday. Dr. Gerald Sharp, Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane, died yesterday, a Brisbane cable reports. He was acting-Primate of Australia after the death of Archbishop Wright some time ago. The Christchurch Presbytery at a special session on Monday sustained a call to the Rev. J. A. F. Watson, Normanby, from the congregation of John Knox Church, Rangiora. Mr. Watson will be inducted by the Moderator, the Rev. L. McMaster, on September 28. Mr. G. L. Wells, New Plymouth, who is to leave shortly for Wellington, was farewelled by the New Plymouth Round Table Club at the fortnightly luncheon yesterday, the president (Mr. F S. Grayling) wishing him success in his new position.

Sir John and Lady Simon arrived at Southampton from South America on Tuesday afternoon, says a British official wireless message. The Foreign Secretary will remain in London for about a week and will probably proceed to Scotland after attending a Cabinet meeting. He stated he enjoyed a splendid trip to a splendid country and was feeling extremely well after his rest and change. The British Prime Minister yesterday flew from Lossiemouth, where he has been spending a holiday, to Northern Ireland, where he is staying for a few days with Lord Londonderry, Air Minister, says a British official wireless message. He will afterwards return to London and go later to Balmoral Castle as the guest of the King and Queen.
