Dannevirke, Last Night. •The weather was very wet this afternoon when the sectional play in the New Zealand ladies’ hockey tournament was completed on heavy, slippery grounds, the games being played in continuous rain. As the result, of to-day’s play the section leaders are: A, Canterbury; B, Otago; C, Eastern.
The results are:— Section A: Canterbury 2 v. Southland 1, Akitio 5 v. Wairarapa B 4, Auckland 4 v. Ruahine B 2. .

Southland lodged a protest over the match with Canterbury owing to extra time played in the first spell, during which Canterbury shot its first goal. It was decided that the evidence was so indefinite that the referee’s decision must stand.
Outstanding victories were gamed by Otago ovei - Wellington and Eastern over Wairarapa A, while Canterbury ousted Southland after a keen 'fight, ensuring the K Cup returning to the south with either Eastern (holders), Otago or Canterbury. The draw for to-morrow is:—Otago v. Eastern, Canterbury v. Ruahine. The last-named has no place in the final.
