THE EMPIRE’S MARKETS

NEW ASSOCIATION. MEETING FOREIGN EFFORTS. London, Aug. 20. That extinction of the Empire Marketing Board comes opportunely for Japan is deducible from a letter in the Times, in which members of various committees of .the board state that foreign competitors are counter-attacking to regain markets of which the “Buy ■ British” policy deprived them. It is added that the board’s disappearance is a stroke of luck of which foreign competitors until recently never dreamed. The committees have learned much from the board, and will reappear in the markets more formidably than ever.

The signatories are forming an association called “Friends of Empire’ Marketing.” They invite the adherence of all traders with similar views in order to promote marketing activities, and awaken the Government to the importance of preserving the board’s work, thereby helping Home and Colonial producers to extend and hold British markets.
