RADNOR ROAD NEWS

BIRTHDAY PARTY ENJOYED. The residence of Mr. J. G. Vickers was ■ the scene of much jollity on Wednesday evening at the celebration of Mr. E. Fear’s birthday anniversary. A very pleasant tune was spent in dancing and games. Mr. E. Fear and Miss I.. Vickers won the statue waltz, and Mr. and Mrs. C. Davis the Monte Carlo. Mr. Desmond Anderson played the dance music. Supper was served by Mrs. Vickers and helpers. Mr. M. Davis and Mr. A. R. Askew, on behalf of those' present wished Mr. Fear “many happy returns,” and spoke of the esteem in which he was held by his friends. Mr. Fear replied thanking those present for the gifts and good wishes. Mr. Fear’s health was then drunk with musical honours. Among those present were Mesdames A. R. Askew, M. Davis, C. Davis, A. W. Mapp, W. Vickers, J. G. Vickers and W. Watts, Misses J. Amer, G. Hoskin (Wharehuna), B. Hunt. T. Jones. P. Kelly, M. Kovaleski (Tuna), J. and D. Rookes and I. Vickers. Personal.

Mr. and Mrs. K. Close have taken up residence on Radnor Road. The school children have had the advantage of a hot cup of cocoa during the lunch hour all this term. It is understood that it will not continue next) term. Mr. and Mrs. Kearney, New Plymouth, are the guests of Mrs. J. Reade.
