By Telegraph—Press Association.
Wellington, Last Night.
There is a possibility that the restriction of beef exports from New Zealand to Britain may be extended to boneless beef in bags, in which there is a considerable trade to Glasgow. It is also stated that the Meat Board has been asked to ■ supply detailed estimates of monthly shipments of pork from New Zealand to Britain, and that there is a possibility of some restricttion being imposed on this class of meat and on pig products. The British Government undertook in the Ottawa agreements that a reasonable share would be given to New Zealand of the expansion made possible by a reduction of foreign imports, Shipments of pork from New Zealand to Britain during the ten months of the current season to July 31 were 196,312 carcases, compared with 118,375 carcases for the corresponding period of last season, an increase of 77,937 carcases or over 65 per cent. Killings of pork for the ten months totalled 311,475 carcases, compared with 147,526 last season, an increase of 163,949 carcases or well over 100 pei’ cent. At July 31 carcases held in cold stores in New Zealand numbered 108,715 and there were 20,034 carcases loaded into ships not sailed at that date.
