SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. At the cribbage tournament on Saturday Mr. P- Carey was successful, while the points prize for the series went to Mr. X. Holdemer. The euchre and dance party held in the hall on Wednesday last was very successful A large crowd was i present and as a result the games were played in the main ball. Of the twelve games played Miss F. Lambeth and Mr. N. Keech both secured 10,. gaining the prizes. After supper dancing was enjoyed. The majority of the dances were of the “old time” class. This was arranged in order to afford a chance for practice for the “old timers’” dance to be held on Friday next. The music was supplied by Mrs. G. Smith, while Mr. Hugh Martin was master of ceremonies. For the past fortnight the Pukearuhe school tennis court has been the scene of much activity. The concreting work ■ took just on five days and then rain interfered. However, the next Wednesday saw the completion of the sltork. All that remains to be done now is the erecting of the wire; There is a strong movement at Mimi to build a hall. Recently an enthusiastic meeting was held and the matter was left in obeyance until the two canvassers appointed were able to ascertain what money could be collected. Mr. G. There were Maori visitors from all over Taranaki to attend the ceremony. Misses Eunice and Loma Wells have returned from a holiday. Mr. Glassford has returned from Wanganui.
