NEW PLYMOUTH ANNUAL MEETING.
GOOD WORK BY DIRECTOR.
The annual meeting of the New Plymouth ' Astronomical Society was held last night, Dr. G. Home presiding. The report and balance-sheet, deta’ls of which have already been published, were adopted. The president remarked on the satisfactory position of the soTributes were paid to the work of the director (Mr. F. G. Morshead) in connection with his observatory work. The good work of Messrs. D. Wilkinson and M. Geddes was mentioned by Mr. Morshead. During his time at New Plymouth, Mr. Geddes, discoverer of the Geddes comet, had, practically taken charge -of the observatory, which had meant a rest for the speaker. The vacancies in the list of officers occasioned by retirements under the rules of the society were filled as follow: President, Dr. G. Home; council, Messrs. S. Alleman, A. G. Johnson, R. C. Wilson and S. Mayer.
