LABOUR MEMBER’S THREAT

Rec. 7 p.m. Perth, Aug. 14. A Country Party member, Mr. Cravan Griffiths, will ask the Premier when Parliament meets to-morrow (l)what is being done about the secession referendum decision; (2) have any steps been taken to present the West Australian people’s views to the Imperial Parliament; (3) will the House be given an opportunity to express an opinion on these matters of urgency. Mr. Lambert, Labour member for YII- - says “Unless the eastern States are prepared to acknowledge Western Australia’s difficulties, 1 am ready to march behind the Nationalist member, Mr. Keenan, and seize the Customs at Fremantle. This Is not an overt hostile action; it is necessary to impress the pussyfoots at Canberra.”
