Forbes, New Zealand Prime Minister, and Mr. Gates, president of the National Farmers’ Union, resulted in the latter’s decision to send Mr. Baxter, ex-president, to discuss dairy produce problems with New Zealand farmers. Mr. Gates suggests that if New Zealanders insist on the letter of rights under the Ottawa agreement and send the full exportable surplus to Britain it will result in appalling conditions among British dairy farmers and prejudice the British milk marketing scheme.
