WELSH COAL MINES CLOSING
INVESTIGATION OF GRIEVANCES. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 10 p.m. London, Aug. 13. Seventeen thousand employees of the Welsh Amalgamated and Welsh Anthracite Collieries will cease work to-mor-row, and 29 collieries will be idle on August 16. Further, a fortnight’s notices will affect 5000 additional miners. The directors offer an investigation of the grievances, involving seniority and certain minimum wage payments.
