The weather for the most part will be fair but showers or misty rain are likely In places in eastern districts and later in the far north. Temperatures will be cold.

An Intense anti-cyclone covers southeastern Australia, southern Tasman Sea and i New Zealand, while a depression is located over northern Tasman Sea. There will be south-easterly winds in and north of Cook Strait, moderate but freshening especially in the far north. will be rather rough north of Kaikoura and moderate elsewhere.
