RATEPAYERS OF FITZROY
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETS. DEAD BEASTS ON SEAFRONT. The executive of the Fitzroy Etete" payers’ Association met last night, Mr. L. N. Fairhall presiding. Others present were Messrs A. Pearce, G. S. Giddy, A. J. Chainey, A. J. Perrott and C. H. Burton. _ , The chairman and Mr. Burton -were appointed a deputation to wait on the borough engineer regarding the danger at the comer of Paynter’s Avenue and Ngaio Street through the absence of a footpath and the habit of motorists gutting the comer. An open drain in Fiteroy Road and the water lying in portion of Waiwaka Terrace were other matters the deputation was appointed to discuss. The large number of collarless dogs straying in the Fitzroy district was mentioned by Mr. Perrott and it was decided to draw the attention of the authorities to the matter. It was considered a number of the dogs might be unregistered. The number at large presented a real nuisance +0 residents. Th nuisance of dead animals deposited on the foreshore after every river flood was mentioned by Mr. Burton and it was decided to approach the authorities. The opinion that motorists ■ travelled too speedily along Devon Street between Te Henui bridge and Waiwakaiho -was expressed by the chairman and it was considered that some restriction should be enforced. ;
