FRENCH VESSEL ARRESTED
ALLEGED FISHERY POACHING. CAPTURE IN ENGLISH CHANNEL. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. London, July 20. H.M.S. Cherwell, a fishery protection cruiser, dramatically arrested in the Channel to-day a fast French fishing vessel which for the past month has been suspected of poaching in British waters, several times evading capture. The commander of the cruiser manoeuvred into a dense fog bank, suddenly appearing alongside the Frenchman. He sent boats aboard and towed the captured craft to Dover. • - -
