SMITH SAILING TO ENGLAND. RECORD ATTEMPT ON RETURN TRIP By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Sydney, July 12. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith has abandoned the proposal to fly to England at the end of August, but will go either by steamer or air mail from Batavia. He will fly a Percival Gull monoplane back to Australia and, should circumstances permit, will endeavour to make an England-Australia record.
