RADIO EMERGENCY CORPS.

(To the Editor). Sir,—The promptness with which the Taranaki section of the Radio Emergency Corps responded to the call this week when a man was reported lost on Mount Egmont illustrates the value of such an organisation in a crisis. The day may yet come when the organisation will be the means of saving a life, or indeed many liyes. Unfortunately owing to shortage of funds the corps has only one portable capable of mountain work, and that is stationed in New Plymouth. By having the support of ’the public in "Taranaki during its present drive for funds, the corps hopes to be able to have another portable ready for action in Stratford, and also one in Hawera. It is to be hoped the activities, of the organisation will not be curbed for lack of finance—l am, etc., S.O.S. Tariki, July 19.
