BUSINESS POST

AUSTRALIAN APPOINTED. As the result of Mr, Horace W. Remington, managing director of Col-gate-Palmolive-Peet, Company, Limited, having been appointed to the position of export sales manager at the head office of the company in America, Mr. John V. Moran, an Australian, now succeeds Mr. Remington as managing director of the Australian organisation. Mr. Moran, who served for four years in the Great War, joined the company in 1921, at the inception of the Australian business, then known as the Palmolive Company (Australasia), Ltd. Commencing as a salesman, he worked his way up in a comparatively short time and now, with the assumption of the managing directorship, he has achieved a unique place as one of the few Australians to be entrusted with the sole direction of such a large American corporation. Mr. Moran is well known throughout Australia and New Zealand.
