BONES OF ILL-LUCK
FIVE DEATHS IN FAMILY. A man and a woman lately visited the famous bone crypt in the parish church of Rothwell, near Kettering, Northamptonshire, which contains many ancient human skeletons, and took away two small bones as souvenirs. That was six years ago. / The couple later made a special journey from London to return the bones because misfortunes that have befallen They explained that since their visit to the crypt five deaths have occurred in their family, and they attribute it to a curse that follows the bones. “Sometimes bones are stolen, but people are usually stopped from taking them by the fact that they are supposed to bring ill-luck,” said Mr. Reginald Hall, the crypt custodian. The bones are- thought to be the remains of soldiers killed at the Battle of Naseby, fought in 1645.
