NEW INDUSTRIES IN BRITAIN
, RAPID EXPANSION REPORTED. ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYMENT. British Wireless. Rugby, May 23. Since November, 1931, 254 new industries had been established by Britain, or with the assistance of .foreign concerns, and it was anticipated by the Board of Trade that the number of their employees, now about 11,000, will increase to over 17,000 when the factories are fully occupied, stated Mr. Walter Runciman, President of the Board of Trade, in the House of Commons.
