COMPLAINT OF PRISONER
ESCAPEE FROM WAIKUNE. TWELVE OTHER CHARGES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 25. Basil Hodgson, aged 25, labourer, who escaped from Waikune prison camp on April 21 and was recaptured at Auckland on May 15, pleaded guilty to-day to escaping and to twelve other charges of breaking and entering dwellings. The police produced a statement in which accused said that as the result of previous treatment from a certain warder and the treatment on April 21 he decided on the spur of the moment to escape. He pleaded “guilts’ under strong provocation.” He was committed to the Supreme I Court for sentence on all the charges
