BOROUGH COUNCIL ECONOMY

REORGANISATION PROPOSALS. MOTION FOR NEXT MONDAY. The new May or. of Stratford, Mr. J. W. McMillan, intends to waste no time in carrying out his pledges regarding economy in the administration of municipal affairs made by him in the course of the recent Mayoral election contest. At the special swearing-in ceremony of the council last night he gave notice to move at a special meeting of the council next Monday evening, that all resolutions dealing with staff organisation, salaries and wages be rescinded. If this motion is carried, the Mayor gave notice of his intention to then move that the council immediately proceed with a plan of staff reorganisation and a review of salaries and wages. The meeting next Monday should be of a highly interesting nature in view of the equal voting for the Mayoralty, and because of the fact that the direction in which votes are cast will determine the views of the councillors upon this important question.
