LADIES’ MEDAL GOLF MATCH. The first round of the eclectic match among the ladies of the Manukorihi Golf Club, set down for Tuesday, was postponed until next week. A medal match was played, the best cards handed in being as follows: Miss I. Foreman 108—25 —B3, Mrs. Whyte 106—19—87, Mrs. Dunbar 107—20—87, Mrs. Knight 109—22—87. The weekly euchre party in aid of the Catholic Church was held in the Soldiers’ Club room on Tuesday night. The attendance was smaller than usual owing to two other card games being played the same evening. The prize-winners were Mrs. Neil 1, Mrs. Thompson 2; Mr. D. Stackman 1, Mr. P. Duffy 2. The Waitara card team visited Tikorangi on Tuesday night and played a shield match, the game resulting in a draw, each team winning 40 games. The Bell Block team visited Waitara and played tire Freezing Works, the game resulting in a win for Bell Block by seven games. The scores were Bell Block 51, Freezers 42. The Rev. Maioha, Te Kuiti, who has been appointed to the Waitara Maori Mission district in place of the Rev. K. Hadfield, who has been transferred to Gisborne, has token up his residence at Waiters * v
