Communication by railway between Taumarunui and Ohura was re-estab-lished yesterday after weeks of interruption, duetto the huge mass of debris which had to be removed from the Stratford line, particularly from the long tunnel at Okahukura. It was reported that the line would be re-opened next Friday, but apparently the work was completed sooner than was estimated and the first train with passengers from Ohura since th<* flood damage to the line some weeks ago came through last evening, connecting with the Frankton train arriving at Taumarunui. at 7 o’clock.
