The Opihi, carrying cargo loaded at Dimedin and Timaru for New Plymouth, via Lyttelton, Wellington and Nelson, is held up at Lyttelton. (U.S.S. Co.). The John, en route to Dunedin to load for New Plymouth, via Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui, is held up at Wellington. (Hooker Bros.) The Hauturu, left Onehunga yesterday for New Plymouth and Wanganui, and is due at New Plymouth to-day. (Northern Co.). MOVEMENTS OF OVERSEAS SHIPS. PORT NICHOLSON DEPARTS. The Port Nicholson, which loaded 30,000 freight carcases of meat for London and west coast of United Kingdom ports, left late yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland to continue loading. The Port Nicholson is scheduled to leave Auckland on May 23 for London.

NORFOLK DUE TO-MORROW. The Federal Line steamer Norfolk is to leave Wellington this morning for New Plymouth, where she is due to-morrow morning to load 25,000 freight carcases of meat, 5971) crates of cheese and 3550 boxes of butter. She is expected to leave New Plymouth for Auckland on Monday and is to sail from Auckland on May 18 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Cape Horn. SURREY LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Tire Federal Line steamer Surrey sailed from Liverpool on Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth with cargo from west coast of United Kingdom ports. She is due at Auckland on June 13 and at New Plymouth on July 6. • HAURAKI FROM PACIFIC PORTS. The Union Company’s trans-Pacific motor-ship Hauraki, en route from Los Angeles, is to leave Papeete to-morrow afternoon for Rarotonga, Aitutaki and Mangaia to load fruit for Auckland. The vessel has cargo from Pacific coast ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia. She is due at Auckland on May 17 and at New Plymouth on May 21, TAMAROA EN ROUTE FROM LONDON Advice has been received that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tamaroa, en route from London and Southampton, cleared Balboa on May 5. The vessel has passengers and. mail for New Zealand and cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington and is scheduled to reach Auckland .on. May 24. The Tamaroa will continue . loading at New Plymouth on June 5. PORT FAIRY NEARS PORT. A wireless message received from the Commonwealth-: ■ arid Dominion Line steamer Port Fairy states that she expects to arrive at Auckland from London this morning. The vessel has general cargo I 'for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington and New Plymouth. She is due New Plymouth on May 20. TROUBLE ON MAHIA.

The Shaw-Savill steamer Mahia, which was to have left Wellington at 7 a.m. yesterday for Gisborne to continue loading, was delayed by tire crew, a number of whom' walked , ashore.. The vessel moved out into the stream, where she remained all day. It was hoped to dispatch her last nigh’t. The Mahia loaded 2700 boxes of butter, 9000 crates of cheese and 5000. freight carcases of meat at New-’Plymouth'last week. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
