ESCAPED PRISONERS

TWO STILL AT LARGE. COUNTRYSIDE SCOURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Taihape, April 26. Two of the three prisoners who escaped from the Waikune prison subcamp at Whisky Creek, 16 miles south of Turangl, on Friday, are still at large. They are Eugene Charles McCarthy, aged 25, and Basil Hodgson, aged 26. On Sunday four warders arrived in Taihape to search the district and were assisted by the local police. The countryside was thoroughly scoured on' Sunday and Monday, but no trace of the ■prisoners was found. The waraers returned to the Waikune camp on Monday evening and the search was continued by the Taihape police yesterday, a large area being thoroughly combed, but without success.
