RIVERLEA DISTRICT NEWS
DANCE AND EUCHRE SUCCESS. A successful and enjoyable dance and euchre tournament were held by the young people of Riverlea last Friday ight. The Weather was the worst experienced this year; nevertheless the attendance was good. About 30 played euchre. This department was in charge of Mr. M. Voullaire junr. The music for the dance was supplied by Mr. Fairbrother’s orchestra, extras were played by Mrs. Eves, Miss Edith Hey, Miss Mellow and Mr. Dival. Mr. Leo. Nicholson was master of ceremonies. The prizes for the euchre were won by Mrs. and Mr. J. Gibson. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Miss Harkness and Mr. Harre and Mrs. J. Gibson and Mr. J. Hey. The proceeds will go to augment the school funds. The ladies of the district supplied an excellent supper. School Football. On Saturday morning the conibined Awatuna-Riverlea school football team played a team of Auroa boys at Auroa.' The day was atrocious, but Mr. Nicholson sent his car. The game resulted Riverlea-Awatuna 24, Auroa 0. The following boys scored: J. Cave one try,_B. Garlick one try, J. Nicholson two tries, R. McLeod one try, H. Gargan one try (converted) and a potted goal.
