NORTH’ TARANAKI LEAGUE

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. FIXTURES FOR FIRST ROUND. The North Taranaki League Centre, met 'at New Plymouth on Wednesday night, there being a full attendance. Mr. V. Simpson presided. The secretary reported that application had been made to the Jockey Club for the use of one of the grounds at the racecourse. The question of broadcasting was fully discussed and finally was left in the hands of the chairman to discuss with the Radio Society. It was left in the hands of Messrs. Smith and Laurence xo confer with the Western Park Board regarding accommodation at the park, with authority to finalise anything agreed on. It was decided to commence the season on April 29, Messrs. Coles, Sceafs and ’Adam to draw the fixtures. Messrs. W.; J. Smith, Hooker . and A. Julian were appointed a postponement committee And Messrs. Laurence .and Sceats a grounds committee. The appointment of a custodian at Western Park was left to Mr. Laurence. The central executive was appointed a* judicial committee. An invitation was received from the Auckland centre to send a Taranaki team to Auckland. This has been, accepted and the date will be fixed later, hot to be before June 3. A Possibles v. Probables match will be played at Inglewood on June 3. Selectors appointed were Messrs. Laurence, Hooker and T. Smith. It was decided to make application to the New Zealand Council for the- affiliation of the North Taranaki centre, and Mr. N. A. Kyle was appointed to represent the centre on the central body. It was decided to send a challenge to the South Auckland centre for a match for tire Northern Cup, the blue ribbon of the League code. The Eastern Suburbs club was granted the use of Western Park each Tuesday for training purposes. The draw for the first round is as follows:— April 19:- Eastern Suburbs v.• Waitara, at Western Park at 1.30 p.m.' Inglewood v. Western Suburbs, at Western Park at 3 P- m - « , . May 6: Inglewood v. Eastern Suburbs, at Inglewood. Waitara v. Western Suburbs, at Western Park. . May 13: Waitara v. Inglewood, at Waitara. Eastern Suburbs v. Western Suburbs, at Western Park. The second round will be drawn later.
